Used for detail work where a very pointed tip and long cutting edge are required. Good fastening possibilities as the scalpel blade has an oval hole. 

Recommended use of pointed blades for detail work, e.g. complex cuts and narrow cutting surfaces. Be careful, as this type of blade is very sharp and delicate.
